一. 教学目标

2. 过程与方法:
通过学习,生活中各种常见的压力问题而引发讨论处理方法,能用所学语言来帮助学生寻找解决的办法,发展英语运用的交际能力。
以学生为主体展开操练,讨论等,从而培养学生间互相学习,帮助,交流的能力和发展合作精神。
3. 情感、态度、价值观:
从学习、生活中最常见的压力问题来讨论它们对青少年生活学习所带来的影响,帮助学生正确面对自身的压力并找到正确方法排除压力。增强学生间的交流合作。
二. 课题分析
1.本单元围绕青少年问题这一话题,学生学习表达自己的忧虑、问题以及产生的原因,同时向他们的朋友提供帮助和建议。本课时,主要就此话题要求学生制定写信的计划,并就压力问题写一封信,来寻求帮助。
2.教学重点和难点:
(1)回答针对压力原因的问题;
(2)制定写信计划,并就压力问题写一封信。

四.教学过程
Step 1 Presentation:
(Show two photos of Millie and Simon)
T: What are their problems? Ss answer
T: How can they solve the problems? Ss answer
(通过复习Reading的内容,让学生更快融入本课内容,引入下一步。)
Step 2 Discussion:
Show three pictures :
(1.Much homework on the desk of a teenager 2.A very fat teenager)
T: Do you have the same stress as theirs?
Can you think of one solution to their problems ?
Let Ss discuss in group of two .Then ask Ss to answer.
Teacher presents the best answer.
(此活动是以之前所学的内容为基础,目的在于让大多数学生开口说英语,提高他们学习英语的主动性。)
Step 3 Expansion (A game between boys and girls)
( Show a picture of a girl )
T: Her name is Sue .She feels worried, because her penfriend in the USA hasn’t repalied to her three e-mails.She thinks her penfriend doesn’t want to write to her any more. Can you help her?
Let Ss answer. Then teacher shows the best answer.

T: His name is Jim.He does well in exams.He is a top student at school.But he isn’t good at sports.So others laugh at him and call him “bookworm”. He feels sad. What will you say to him?
Let Ss answer, and then present the best answer.
(Show a picture of another boy)
T: He is called Tom. He likes Maths,but he doesn’t like Chinese.He doesn’t know how to improve Chinese.Can you give him some good advice ?
Let Ss answer and present the best answer.
(通过此轮游戏活动,主要目的是利用青少年的几种常见的学习生活中的问题,来激发学生的兴趣,帮助学生积累不同问题的不同解决方法。游戏在下面的更多练习中继续开展,可以调动学生的积极性,使课堂气氛活跃起来。)
Step 4: Exercises
T: Books open! Turn to Page 53. I want you to find out if you know how to deal with problems Here is a quiz. (教师将大致内容说一遍,教授新单词,学生跟读)
Then let Ss circle the best answers to finish the quiz.
Ask Ss to answer and try to explain why.
(让学生思考压力情境以及应对方法,以此激发他们的兴趣,也可以让学生更了解处理问题的好方法与坏方法,继续开展上一部分的游戏。)
Step 5: Expansion:
T: What should you do if…
(1) you are often sick?
(2) you feel tired?
(3) you like playing computer games too much?
Let Ss choose one topic and encourage them to express their own ideas.
(本环节的拓展活动,目的是为了鼓励学生表达自己的烦恼等,便于教师了解学生的问题,并且帮助他们怎样处理压力问题。)
Step 6: Pair work
Model:
A: I have a lot of homework to do .Can you give me some advice?
B: I think you should plan your time carefully.
( choose one topic with your partner,and then state the cause of your stress and the solution to the problem )

Step7: Making a plan
T: We have so many stresses to solve .If you still have other stresses that you don’t know what to do . I think you can write a letter to your friend or teacher. But how can we write it ?
Let Ss turn to Page 54 and look at Part B. Then ask them to finish it.
(此环节目的在于要求学生了解写作前必须先完成计划。重在要求学生能独立地制定写作计划。)
Step8: Writing
T: Ask one student to read Part C—Millie’s letter. And then let Ss finish the letter.
T: Ask Ss to write a letter to their friends to tell them about their problems they have and how to deal with them .And then ask one or two students to read their writing.
Step 9: Homework
1. Finish the letter about you own problems and how you deal with them. Make sure that there isn’t any mistakes in your letter.
2. Recite the beginning of Millie’s letter.
